ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMMES
INTRODUCTION: The impact of HIV/AIDS has left
behind two (2) million orphans in Uganda according to a report by UNICEF.
This has been characterized by Mother-Headed families and Child-Headed
families left behind by the income earners. This has led to low household
incomes causing extreme poverty. The high cost of education has caused many
youths to drop out of school to the streets in such of a livelihood.
HSGOM is an organization, which has been
established to address these challenges in our community and nation through
its Child-Welfare, Youth Development, and Women Empowerment and HIV/AIDS
awareness programs.
Midland Trust Academy

Midland Trust Academy is a
pre and elementary school with a staff of 8 trained teachers, a cook and
a matron.
The school has an attendance of 100 children, with the ratio of girls to
boys as 1:2.
We believe we are raising the next generation of leaders as the motto
reads.
The school is congested, with temporary open structures where the
children have lessons.
We are seeking partners to help us purchase land and construct permanent
classrooms.

Grace Of
God children's church

Ps. Elizabeth and the children
This vision was birthed by a wonderful Mama to children called Pastor
Elizabeth Mwogeza.
Every Sunday morning she brings together all the children from the
community and the children at Grace Home( One of the children's homes of
HSGOM) with one purpose "that they may sit on the lap of Jesus ,so He
can bless and touch them. " Luke 18:15-17
We request you to send us toys, children's bibles, charts, books,
teaching guides, children's discipleship curriculum and everything that
the children would enjoy using. |
Child-Welfare:

HSGOM
has identified 100 AIDS orphans and vulnerable children and more
and helps them by catering for their education, food, clothes, shoes,
water, and medical health care. Such a child will be supported in
his/her family. HSGOM
will seek to strength to relationship between the child and the
immediate family still alive. A child sponsorship scheme where a child
can be supported with $25 per month to cater for his/her needs including
education, healthcare, food and clothes will be initiated. |
|
Youth Development:

This department will seek to empower the youth
handle the challenges at hand. Because of the high unemployment rate
HSGOM will seek to train the youths in vocational skills, which
include carpentry, tailoring, brick laying, mechanics and computer. The
purpose here is to make them job creators thereby being self-reliant
hence able to make a positive contribution to the society. A resource
center will be set-up with a library and other facilities to provide
information to the youths. |
|
Women Empowerment Program:
This will seek to
address the needs of widows and women in the society empowering them to
be self-reliant hence able to cater for their families. Income
generating projects such as poultry raring and crafts-making will be
initiated in women groups. The women will be trained in different skills
and a market established for their products.
